Enrique Guzman Landscape Designer

Enrique guzman

Owner / Principal

From a very early age, Enrique's fascination with contextual architecture formulated his design sensibilities and embedded in him a sincere appreciation for place. He has lived in both the United States and Guadalajara, Mexico, where he saw every neighbor acting as their own architect, landscape designer, and interior designer in the creation of thoughtful, vibrant neighborhoods. Long before Contexto, he was exposed to the raw materials - bricks, cobbles, concrete, greenery - which acted as fundamental building blocks in expanding his own family home. He was captivated with unique, contextual elements of the landscape from self-made "canceles" (steel gates) in his own neighborhood to the rich, architectural details adorning plazas and cathedrals in the city centers.

Enrique graduated from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture.

Contexto is the synthesis of Enrique's diverse experience and deep passions. He believes the surrounding landscape and built environment are the greatest precedents in creating mindful spaces that are a true reflection of his clients' values.
