Contexto Landscape Design + Build is excited to offer aspiring landscape architects a paid internship to gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills in the field. As a dynamic and growing design-build firm, we seek a design-oriented intern to join our creative team.

This is a part-time position with flexible hours based on your schedule.

Responsibilities:

• 3D Modeling: Create detailed models using SketchUp to visualize design concepts.

• Rendering: Produce high-quality visualizations with Lumion to communicate design ideas effectively.

• Drafting: Develop base plans and design documents using AutoCAD.

• Presentation Graphics: Design and prepare compelling materials for client and industry presentations using Adobe Suite.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an individual with a can-do attitude who is eager to thrive in the profession. Responsibilities include developing bespoke designs that align with our client's vision and creating design drawings and 3-D renderings for various projects located throughout California.

This position is full-time, M-F, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. We are also open to a flexible remote and in-office schedule. Specific tasks require in-office work and travel to job sites and client meetings. We are happy to discuss this further based on the right candidate.

Compensation is based on experience and will be discussed in a formal interview.

Experience and Qualifications

• 2 - 3 years experience in landscape design or landscape architecture.

• A degree or experience in landscape architecture, horticulture, or a design-related field

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite

• High Proficiency with AutoCAD

• Proficiency in SketchUp and experience in Lumion rendering software

• Experience with Irrigation Design and WELO, not required but a huge plus!

• Understanding of landscape materials specifications and the landscape construction process.

• Knowledge of plants (water use and regionality)

• Strong work ethic, communication skills, and an eye for the design details.

• Effectively prioritize tasks and responsibilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively when needed.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the principal designer, you will be tasked to provide bespoke designs that align with our client's visions and the site's restraints. This includes planting, hardscape, lighting, and construction detail drawings.

• Produce SketchUp models and Lumion renderings of proposed designs for client presentations.

• Produce presentation packages and graphics in InDesign, Illustrator, and CAD.

• Assists the principal in completing design construction packages for our construction team and industry partners.
