Avocado haus

Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
Date:
Completed 2022
Project Type:
Landscape Design, Lighting Design, Outdoor Furnishings Procurement

An existing Avocado tree was the starting point and inspiration for this landscape remodel that marries ranch-style architecture with contemporary principles. Working around its well-established location created intimate outdoor rooms that include a fire pit, dining patio, lounging area, and walking paths through an edible garden. Regionally sourced wood, concrete, and gravel update the aesthetic to modern times. Plantings sourced from Native Sons are water-wise and pollinator-forward, bringing an abundance of life to the garden. The procured furnishings from Article are fresh and playful, inspired by the hues of the plantings and avocado.
